  • 1.  RFP for enforcement vehicle LPR

    Posted 2 days ago

    Good morning,

We are in the early stages of gathering information for an RFP for a new LPR vendor for our enforcement vehicle. We currently utilize Tannery Creek for our LPR system, which does not integrate with our parking citation vendor, Passport.

At this time, we use the Tannery Creek software to "mark" vehicles, which provides back and side views of vehicles, along with the times, dates, and street locations where they were observed. We then need to manually issue tickets using a handheld device or create citations through the Passport portal.

Afterward, we upload photos and screenshots from videos of the violations to attach to the citations as proof of the violation, since most of the time the photos do not show posted signage. This process is time-consuming, and we are trying to streamline it.

We are also exploring the possibility of using LPR for meter enforcement in areas that are app-only, as we currently need to use the handheld app to check for violations.

Does anyone have recommendations for vendors they currently work with or have worked with? If anyone has an RFP they would be willing to share, I would greatly appreciate it. Depending on the vendor we select, we are also trying to determine how much we should budget.

    Thank you!

    Good morning,

I am currently going through the same process for an LPR vendor SenSen.ai. Their technology provides many advantages like privacy masking, high rez photo uploads, and assisting in creating a digital curb for parking. I am unsure if SenSen.ai integrates with Passport however. SenSen can also integrate with paid parking vendors and permit management.

I have also used Genetec in the past however my experience with Genetec was brief and mostly during a time frame of technical issues. I have heard of other LPR vendors like Survision and Motorola Vigilant, but I have never worked with them before.

We are going the Sole Source route, so we do not have an RFP. I can share the RFI we used to gather information. Feel free to reach out to me for this.

I hope this answers your questions and I hope you find the LPR technology that works best for you!
